Former St. Louisan Sarah Jacobsohn was named the 2024 Women’s Athlete of the Year by Ultimate Canada and awarded Co-Defensive Player of the Year by Ultiworld, the premier news media site dedicated to the sport of ultimate (frisbee). Jacobsohn was born in St. Louis in 2000 and moved with her parents and older sister to Winnipeg in 2006.
She was one of the most elite-performing defenders at the international club ultimate level in 2024, playing for the Toronto 6ixers.
The 6ixers compete in both Canadian and U.S. national championships. Jacobsohn recently graduated from the University of Winnipeg, where she received a gold medal for having the highest GPA in her class. She is in the process of applying to medical school.
