Amanda Arst, daughter of Alissa and Brad Arst, was nominated by her school to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State (ALA MGS) program.
The week-long program provides immersive experiences in civic engagement, leadership, and public service. Amanda is a senior at Parkway Central High School and attends Congregation Temple Israel.
She plans to study political science and psychology next year at an undetermined university.
