JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Times of Israel news website launched a Chinese edition.

Introducing the Times of Israel Chinese on Wednesday, Times of Israel founding editor David Horovitz said in a column that it “focuses on the evolving high-tech and innovation areas of the Israeli-Chinese relationship.”

He added, “It also dips into Israeli culture and society, giving Chinese readers insights into Israel beyond the spheres of business and high-tech.”

The Times of Israel Chinese is edited by Jingjing Li, a former editor and reporter for Beijing’s China Economic Net.

Horovitz said he realized during a visit to Beijing 18 months ago that “there was a real need for a news site to help facilitate the burgeoning Israeli-Chinese conversation.”

In addition to an English news site, the Times of Israel also publishes in French and Arabic.
