JERUSALEM (JTA) — Three Israelis were stabbed by a Palestinian man in the central Israeli city of Raanana.

The Palestinian man, 20, from the West Bank, who was illegally living in Israel, stabbed three people on a residential street on Saturday afternoon after unsuccessfully trying to enter a synagogue, and then entered at least one home before being captured by police.

One of those stabbed was seriously injured in the stomach and two were lightly injured, according to reports.

Residents were ordered to remain inside their homes following the attacks.

Raanana is home to many immigrants from English-speaking countries, and from France.

There were two stabbing attacks in Raanana by two separate terrorists on the same day in October.

On Sunday morning, a Palestinian woman was shot with a rubber bullet by Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint in Hebron as she attempted to stab soldiers manning the checkpoint.
