Synagogue in Parma, Italy vandalized

(JTA) – Unknown persons threw red paint against the entryway of the synagogue in Parma, Italy, apparently protesting Israeli rocket fire into Gaza.

The damage was discovered Sunday. According to local media, the person or persons responsible also left the first three letters of a scrawled slogan – “Sto.” Media reports speculated that they had intended to scrawl “Stop bombing Palestine,” a slogan that has appeared in various places around Italy with the renewed violence of in recent days but had stopped writing when they realized that they were being recorded on the synagogue’s security camera.

Israel has been staging targeted attacks on Gaza in response to hundreds of Hamas and other terrorist groups’ rockets being fired into Israel.
