JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israel Defense Force patrol working on the border with Lebanon came under fire.
The patrol, located near Metullah, returned fire, according to reports. No Israeli troops were injured.
The shooting Thursday could have been hunters on the other side of the border, according to the IDF, which is investigating the incident.
The shooting came less than a week after an explosive device detonated on the side of the road near the Syrian border in the Golan as an IDF patrol was passing by. The attack, believed to be directed at the patrol, damaged an IDF jeep.
