Republican Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel reelected

(JTA) — Republican Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel was reelected to a second term.
Mandel won the statewide race with 57 percent of the vote. He defeated Democratic state Rep. Connie Pillich
The victory comes two years after he failed in his bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.
He was elected twice to the House of Representatives in 2006 and 2008.
Mandel, 37, who is Jewish and lives in suburban Cleveland, is a former Marine who served in Iraq and remains in the reserves.
In June of this year Mandel purchased $47.8 million in Israel Bonds, the largest single government purchase of Israel Bonds ever in the United States.
