NEW YORK (JTA) — Prosecutors completed their arguments in the case against one of two New Jersey men accused of vandalizing and firebombing synagogues and a rabbi’s home in 2012.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Anthony Graziano, 24, faces nine counts of attempted murder along with other charges, including criminal mischief, conspiracy and aggravated and bias intimidation arson.

One of the alleged attacks, on Congregation Beth El in Rutherford, injured Rabbi Nosson Schuman, who lives with his family in the synagogue residence. Molotov cocktails thrown at the synagogue set fire to the bedroom of the rabbi’s family. The rabbi, his wife, five children and his parents were sleeping at the time.
Graziano has not said yet whether he will testify in his defense. Graziano’s friend Aakash Dalal has also been charged in the attacks and will be tried separately.
Both men were indicted in 2013 and pleaded not guilty.
