Police investigating anti-Semitic graffiti in Boca Raton

(JTA) — Anti-Semitic graffiti was spray-painted in black outside an apartment complex in Boca Raton, Florida, days before Rosh Hashanah.

The graffiti at the Gables Town Place complex, which management painted over after being alerted on Monday, included a Star of David and a swastika, as well as several symbols that police have not identified, according to WPTV.com.

“We take this crime seriously and are investigating it thoroughly,” a police department statement said of last week’s incident. “The symbols depicted in the graffiti could be gang related or could be anti-Semitic, we haven’t ruled anything out at this point. The investigation is ongoing.”

Boca Raton is an affluent community about 40 miles from Miami with a large Jewish population.
