JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli troops shot and critically injured a female Palestinian teen who attempted to stab a Jewish resident of the Kiryat Arba settlement near Hebron.

The teen, identified by the Palestinian Maan news agency as Lama Munthir Hafith al-Bakri, 16, is a resident of Hebron.

The Israel Defense Forces spokespersons office confirmed that a Palestinian woman who attempted to stab an Israeli civilian was shot and apprehended by Israeli troops.

She was taken to Hadassah Hospital – Ein Kerem for treatment.

The Israeli that she attempted to stab struggled with her before she was shot by soldiers, according to Ynet.
