JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian man crashed his car into an Israeli army jeep in the West Bank and then attacked the occupants with an axe.
The Palestinian attacker reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar,” meaning God is great, and injured two of the Israeli troops in the jeep in Monday’s attack before being shot dead by a Shin Bet security officer, who was also riding in the jeep. The jeep had overturned from the crash, Ynet reported.
The attack, which Israeli police are considering as terrorist in nature, occurred outside the Shavei Shomron settlement, near the Palestinian city of Nablus.
