Palestinian injured by rocks thrown by haredi Orthodox neighbors

JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian from the Shufat refugee camp, and three haredi Orthodox Jews from a nearby Jerusalem neighborhood were injured in an exchange of rock throwing.

Haredi Orthodox Jews from Ramat Shlomo threw stones Saturday night at the refugee camp in northeastern Jerusalem, according to reports.

Three haredi males, including two minors, were arrested. One of the arrested minors injured a police officer during his arrest.

The Palestinian residents of Shufat threw rocks back at their Jewish assailants, injuring two and damaging three cars.

It is not known if a particular incident sparked the violence.
