JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian resident of eastern Jerusalem was indicted for assisting the escape of an alleged accomplice in the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens.

An indictment was filed Tuesday in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court against Wael Karameh for harboring a criminal and obstruction of justice.

Karameh, 43, is accused of hiding his cousin, Hussam Kawasame, in his eastern Jerusalem home for three days after the bodies of Israeli teenagers Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach were found on land Kawasame owns near Hebron.

Hussam Kawasame, who was arrested last month and admitted to planning the attack, said during his interrogation that he helped bury the bodies on a plot of land he had purchased two months prior to the murders. He then helped the two men who drove the car and shot the teens hide.
