JERUSALEM (JTA) — As many as seven cars in a Palestinian neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem were vandalized in what is being called a “price tag” attack.
The damaged cars were discovered Sunday morning by residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. The tires were slashed and the words “price tag” were spray-painted on one of the cars.
It is the third attack in eastern Jerusalem in about three months.
The latest attack occurred near the home of a Palestinian family that has been ordered evicted from its home; the eviction order has been stayed for 18 months, Haaretz reported.
Price tag refers to the strategy that extremist settlers and their supporters have adopted to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.
