(JTA) — Nominations have opened for a prize recognizing outstanding Israeli immigrants from English-speaking countries.

The Nefesh B’Nefesh Bonei Zion Prize was established by the aliyah organization to recognize “outstanding Anglo olim — veteran and recent — who embody the spirit of modern-day Zionism by significantly contributing to developing the State of Israel,” Nefesh B’Nefesh announced. by Nefesh B’Nefesh is a nonprofit organization founded in 2002 to encourage and facilitate the aliyah process for Jews from North America and the United Kingdom.

A panel of committee members will award $10,000 prizes in six categories: Science & Medicine; Education; Community & Nonprofit; IDF & National Service Young Leadership; Entrepreneurship & Technology; and in Culture, Sports & Arts.

Last year’s winners included Rabbi Seth Farber, founder and executive director of ITIM, and Charles Sprung, director of the General Intensive Care Unit at Hadassah Medical Organization.

The panel of judges includes Colette Avital, Israeli diplomat; David Gerstein, painter and sculptor; Barbara Goldstein, deputy executive director, Hadassah, Israel; Prof. Yonatan Halevy, director general, Shaare Zedek Medical Center; Steve Linde, editor-in-chief, The Jerusalem Post; Gabriela Shalev, president of the Higher Academic Council and Dean of the Law School, Ono Academic College; Rabbi Berel Wein, founder and director, The Destiny Foundation; and Yael Arad, the first Israeli to win an Olympic medal.

Nominations for the prize will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2015. Winners will be announced on April 4, 2016. Nominations may be submitted at www.boneizion.org.il/nominate.
