JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli naval forces did not find any arms on a ship intercepted in the Mediterranean Sea.
The HS Beethoven, flying a Liberian flag, was intercepted Sunday off the northern coast of Israel and boarded by the elite naval commando unit Shayetet 13.
The inspection, called a “routine” security check by the military, was undertaken with the permission of the ship’s captain; the commandos boarded the ship with no incident, Haaretz reported.
