NJDC names Keyak interim boss

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The National Jewish Democratic Council named former congressional aide Aaron Keyak its interim director.

Keyak, who was the communications director for former Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.), will run the group while it searches for a replacement for David Harris, its CEO and president who last month announced his plans to resign, the NJDC said Thursday.

Keyak previously ran NJDC’s media shop during President Obama’s 2008 campaign.

More recently, since Rothman’s defeat in a primary battle last spring, he directed the “Jewish Media Hub,” an operation aligned with Democratic groups that placed op-eds and promoted stories in Jewish media and through social media.
