JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel is prepared to take “devastating action” against the terror organizations in Gaza if “aggression” from the coastal strip continues, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu made his remarks on Sunday morning at the start of the regular Cabinet meeting. His message came hours after Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket from Gaza on civilian areas of southern Israel, setting off local Code Red rocket alerts.

The rocket, the seventh such launch in seven days, according to the IDF, landed in an open field, causing no damage or injury.

Hours after Netanyahu’s threat, another rocket was fired from Gaza, setting off sirens in Sderot and surrounding commnities. No injuries or damage were reported. In response the military launched air strikes on  Hamas targets in Gaza on Sunday night.

Also on Saturday, explosives attached to a bunch of balloons crossed from Gaza into southern Israel and failed to explode after it was picked up by foreign workers. Six incendiary balloons were launched on Friday, including one carrying the warhead from a rocket-propelled grenade.

The Israel Defense Forces responded by shelling two Hamas military posts in Gaza, the IDF said.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian teen protesting against the Trump administrations Israeli-Palestinian peace plan was shot dead in the West Bank on Friday. The teen was shot by a sniper in the neck after her threw a fire bomb at Israeli soldiers, the Jerusalem Post reported, citing the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. He is the fourth Palestinian reported killed by IDF troops since Thursday, according to the report.
