Man detained for loitering outside Israeli embassy in New Delhi

(JTA) — An Indian man was detained after he was found loitering outside the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi.

The man, 35, began running away Wednesday after security personnel approached him and asked him what he was doing.  He was then turned over to police, Haaretz reported, citing Indian news sources. The man, who is said to have been holding a package in his hands, reportedly was injured during the chase.

In February 2012, the wife of an Israeli diplomat based in New Delhi and her driver were injured in a bomb attack on her car as she went to pick up her children from school.
