JERUSALEM (JTA) — A fire near Jerusalem has threatened homes and closed the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway.

At least firefighting teams from across the country and fire-fighting planes are battling the blaze, that reportedly erupted in two separate places.

The Jerusalem area reportedly has suffered hundreds of fires in recent weeks, and many are believed to be the result of arson.
