JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Knesset committee unanimously approved a bill to dissolve the Knesset and set March 17 as the date for new elections.

The Knesset House Committee approved the bill Monday morning. The bill is expected to be brought to the floor of the Knesset late on Monday afternoon, where lawmakers will vote on it in its second and third readings. It is expected to pass.

Rumors surfaced Sunday evening that Netanyahu was still working to form a new coalition government, one that would likely include the haredi Orthodox parties, which Likud partner Yisrael Beiteinu rejects. The Likud party denied the reports.
