Italian ‘Apprentice’ reality show films in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Italian version of the reality show “The Apprentice” will film part of the program in Israel.

Five of the contestants, with a crew of about 40 in tow, will film an episode of the show in Jerusalem next week.

Producers of the popular television show decided to film an episode outside of the country and in Israel after receiving an invitation to do so from Israel’s Tourism Ministry.

“We look forward to cooperation with each and every one of the contestants in the future when they come to do business here in Israel,” said Israeli Tourism Minister Dr. Uzi Landau.

The 45-minute episode will air on the Sky Italia network.  During their mission, each contestant will be sent on a search for five symbols located around the city, including a menorah. The task will expose the contestants and the Italian viewing public to sites in the city of tourist and cultural significance.
