Israeli taxi driver stabbed by Palestinian passenger

The driver picked up the passenger, suspected of being a Palestinian working in Israel illegally, in Tel Aviv and took him to his requested destination of Kfar Saba after midnight on Tuesday morning. The passenger, who had pre-paid his fare, according to Ynet, then stabbed the driver and fled the scene.

Police believe the attack was nationalistically motivated, and that the attacker acted alone. Police have arrested a Palestinian man in connection with the attack, who is being questioned by the Shin Bet security service, according to Ynet. A gag order has been placed on other details about the case.

The driver, 30, was taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, where he is in stable condition.
