Israeli tanks fired at a Hamas position in  Gaza after soldiers came under fire while working on the costal strip’s border with Israel.

The soldiers were carrying out what the Israel Defense Forces called “routine activities” near the southern Gaza border fence on Thursday morning when they were fired upon from inside Gaza. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack.

Israeli news reports said that the Hamas position was destroyed. No group in Gaza claimed responsibility for the attack.
