JERUSALEM (JTA) — A video aired on an Israeli television station shows Israeli soldiers dancing with Palestinian men in a dance hall in Hebron.
The soldiers were in full military gear, including bullet-proof vests, helmets and arms. The video was aired this week on Israel Channel 2; the incident reportedly occurred on Monday.
The soldiers, who were on patrol duty, reportedly entered a dance hall when they heard the song “Gangham Style.”
The video shows them dancing with Palestinian partygoers and shows one of the soldiers being lifted on the dancers’ shoulders with his arms locked with a Palestinian celebrant.
The soldiers have been suspended from duty until the end of an investigation into the incident, Channel 2 reported.
The IDF said that “the soldiers exposed themselves to unnecessary danger and were disciplined accordingly,” according to the Associated Press.
