Israeli man stabbed near Maale Adumim in suspected terror attack

JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli man was stabbed in a suspected terror attack at a junction near Maale Adumim.

Police have launched an investigation into Monday morning attack.  The attacker fled the scene after the stabbing. Police and soldiers were searching the area looking for the attacker, according to the Israel Police.

The attacker was identified as a Palestinian by Hebrew-language media and as an Arab-Israel from Jerusalem by the Jerusalem Post. He reportedly got into a taxi with Palestinian license plates and drove away,  Israel Radio reported.

The victim was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with at least one stab wound in his side.

Maale Adumim, a West Bank settlement, is located about five miles from Jerusalem.
