JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli soldiers killed a member of Islamic Jihad during clashes with Palestinians in the West Bank.
Ahmad Imad Tazaza, 20, was shot dead in the village of Qabatiya, near Jenin, according to the Palestinian Ma’an news service, which said he was a member of Islamic Jihad.
The Israeli army said it was looking into reports that a Palestinian man was killed.
Four Palestinian men were arrested in a raid on the village preceding the clashes, during which dozens of Palestinians threw rocks at Israeli troops, according to Reuters.
The soldiers fired live ammunition in the air because they feared for their lives, an Israeli army spokesman told the Times of Israel.
