Holocaust education will begin in Israel as early as first grade, the country’s Education minister said.
Education Minister Shai Piron said during an official visit to Poland that his new plan would call for study of the Holocaust in every grade beginning in grade one, instead of beginning in 11th grade prior to a school visit to Holocaust sites in Poland, as is usually the case, Israel’s Channel 2 reported.
The plan was put together with the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum. It will be unveiled in the coming months, according to the Times of Israel news website.
