JERUSALEM (JTA) — At least six people have been killed and dozens injured in a multiple-vehicle accident near Haifa that police are investigating as an intentional attack.

A truck moving at high speed reportedly hit several cars and pedestrians on a road on the outskirts of Haifa on Wednesday afternoon.

After hitting about eight cars, the truck overturned and caught fire.

The driver, a Palestinian, was injured in the accident.

Israeli media are reporting that police are investigating whether the incident was a terrorist attack, though brake failure also is a possible cause.
