A 7-year-old girl died after getting swept up in an overflowing stream near Modi’in Illit.

An Israeli rescue worker told Haaretz that the girl was swept away on Friday by a stream that had overrun its banks and took out a street. Her body was recovered by police and volunteers. 

Israel has been hit by storms this week. In a separate incident, an elderly women died en route to the hospital when the ambulance slid on an icy road.
