Gallup: American support for Israel near all-time high

Some 71 percent of Americans view Israel favorably, a three-point increase over last year’s results of 68 percent, the Gallup poll, conducted Feb. 2-5, measured.
Israel’s highest favorability rating in this survey was 79 percent in January 1991.
The most highly favored country by Americans was Canada with 96 percent, followed by Australia and Great Britain, with 93 percent and 90 percent respectively.
In addition, the Gallup poll found that Americans rated Iran as the least favored country with 87 percent of Americans viewing the Islamic Republic of Iran unfavorably and 10 percent viewing the country favorably.
According to Gallup, favorability ratings of Iran have been consistently low since Gallup began measuring the favorability of the country in 1989.
Some 19 percent of Americans rated the Palestinian Authority favorably, the same as last year.
