BUDAPEST, Hungary (JTA) — Four public menorahs erected throughout the Hungarian capital of Budapest were damaged by vandals.
Police announced Monday that the vandalism, which occurred over the weekend, was perpetrated by four young people, whose actions were captured on public surveillance cameras.
The Hungarian daily newspaper Népszabadság reported Monday that the attacks appear to have been “preplanned and premeditated.”
Three of the vandals turned themselves into police on Monday, Hungary’s Club Radio reported. Police are searching for the fourth.
