JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon grabbed the leg of a photographer as he fell off the stage at an election rally in Beit Shemesh.

Danon was speaking to the crowd in advance of new mayoral elections to be held on March 11, ordered by Israel’s Supreme Court following the discovery of electoral fraud.

As Danon spoke, he saw the photographer begin to fall backwards off the stage. He caught the photographer by the leg and held him in the air until he was able to lower the photographer, who was clutching his equipment, to someone waiting to help him safely to the ground.

Danon posted a photo of the incident to Facebook.
