Cat Power canceled an Israeli show that was to have taken place Sunday, citing fans’ concerns about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“Due to much confusion in my soul, playing for my Israeli fans w/such unrest between Israel & Palestine I can’t play, I feel sick in my spirit xx,” the American rock singer said in a Tweet.
Cat Power, also known as Chan Marshall, was to have performed in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
A number of performers, including Elvis Costello and the Pixies have canceled appearances in Israel because of pressure. Others, including Madonna, Leonard Cohen and Elton John have not heeded such calls.
