(JTA) — Chelsea Clinton and her Jewish husband Marc Mezvinsky became parents of a baby girl.

Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky was born on  Friday evening.

“Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky,” Clinton said in a tweet.

Mezvinsky is the banker son of two Jewish ex-Congress members, and Chelsea Clinton is the daughter of the former U.S. president and former U.S. secretary of state. She serves as the vice chairwoman of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.

Clinton and Mezvinsky were married in late July 2010, under a traditional chuppah, or wedding canopy, and a ketubah, or a Jewish marriage contract; they also recited the traditional sheva brachot, or seven wedding blessings and broke a glass under the chuppah. The wedding was officiated by a rabbi, James Ponet, head of the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale University, along with a Methodist minister.
