Chabad at U-Colorado flooded

(JTA) — Students at the University of Colorado in Boulder moved holy objects at the Chabad campus shul to higher ground after floods left much of the synagogue under water.

Rabbi Yisroel Wilhelm, who directs the campus Chabad, said he was not certain as of Thursday where Yom Kippur services would take place, according to the Chabad news blog.

“When we will gather, wherever it may be, you can be sure that we will be remembering those who have lost their lives and praying for a quick end to the rainfall,” Wilhelm told the blog.

Students moved torahs, an ark and other items to higher ground in recent days, he said.

Floods in Colorado have so far killed three people and left a number of communities isolated.
