(JTA) — Israeli lawmaker Naftali Bennett met with European Parliament President Martin Schultz to discuss Shultz’s speech to the Knesset and Bennett’s walkout.

The officials met Wednesday at EU headquarters in Brussels, where they discussed last Wednesday’s speech and its aftermath, Times of Israel reported.

Bennett, chairman of the Jewish Home Party, and lawmakers from his party walked out after Schultz criticized Israel, citing incorrect information. Schultz had accused Israel of allowing its citizens to use four times the amount of water per person that is allocated to Palestinians, a figure that reportedly is highly inflated. He also criticized the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Bennett called on Schultz to apologize, and Schultz later called the Jewish Home Party lawmakers “extremists.”

At Wednesday’s meeting Bennett gave Schultz a 2,000-year-old coin discovered in Jerusalem and thanked him for standing up against boycotts against Israel, according to the Times of Israel. Schultz told Bennett he would always support Israel.
