#AskHamas is one big #TwitterFail

Did anyone really expect Hamas to be good at public relations?

Yesterday, the Palestinian Islamist organization announced that it would launch a five-day #AskHamas social media campaign to reach out to people who might label them a terrorist group. However, the plan was hijacked well before it even started on Friday by some of those who have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to publicly humiliate Hamas.

Below are some of the most humorous and sadly ironic tweets from the last day’s anti-Hamas barrage.

Our own Ron Kampeas got in on the action as well.

Of course, the IDF has also had its share of public relations fails on Twitter.

For example, in 2011, IDF spokesman Maj. Peter Lerner was criticized for an insensitive tweet about the death of a Palestinian protester.

In April 2014, the “Selfie with a Survivor” campaign, with the hashtag #WeAreHere was hijacked by pro-Palestinian activists, who used the hashtag to highlight Palestinian victimhood.

Later that year, this absurd tweet tried to make deadly drones look appropriate during Hanukkah.

In any event, if you have any burning questions for the Gaza-based terror group, now’s your chance. Just don’t expect answers anytime soon.
