Arab teens arrested for stabbing Jewish man in back

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Four Arab teenagers were arrested in the stabbing of a Jewish resident of eastern Jerusalem.

The announcement of the arrests in the Nov. 3 attack was made Wednesday. The arrests of the teens, aged 13 to 17, occured over the past several days.

The victim was returning home from Shabbat services at the Western Wall when he was stabbed in the back in the Palestinian Ras al-Amud neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem near the gates of the neighboring Jewish neighborhood of Maaleh Hazeitim.

The teens had planned the attack when they were arrested previously for throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails, the Times of Israel reported. Police said that family members of the teens also were involved in planning and preparing for the attack.
