Former SNL funny man turned U.S. Senator Al Franken apparently doesn’t think that the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement is a laughing matter.

JTA’s Ron Kampeas has a spoke with several attendees at a meeting between Jewish leaders and Democratic senators, and was told that Franken offered to us his unique skillset to take on the BDS movement.

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), a former comedian and Saturday Night Live regular, noted his continuing popularity as a campus speaker and said he would use that platform to push back against the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, which he called “pernicious.”
