(JTA) — Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and his wife for a second time have given $10 million to a Super PAC supporting Mitt Romney.

The donation to the Restore Our Future Super PAC came in during the first half of October, Federal Elections Commission filings show, according to reports.

On Oct. 25, the Adelsons said they donated the second time  to “help level the playing field.” Late last month, billionaire George Soros pledged $1 million to a Super PAC supporting President Obama.

The Adelsons have given $47 million in support of Republican candidates this election year, Reuters reported.

Earlier this month, the couple gave $500,000 to the Patriot Prosperity Super-PAC supporting Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s bid for Congress in New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District.

Super PACs can raise unlimited sums from corporations, unions and other groups, as well as individuals, and indirectly support a political candidate. They cannot by law coordinate with the candidate’s official campaign.

Adelson, 79, who reportedly is worth about $20 billion, told Politico last month that he planned to spend up to $100 million, or “whatever it takes,” to defeat Obama.
