JERUSALEM (JTA) — The ABC television network purchased the rights to Israel’s top-rated television series, “Bilti Hafich,” or “Irreversible.”
The pilot episode will be developed by series co-creator Segahl Avin, a c0-executive producer of the U.S. series, along with Peter Tolan, according to the Deadline Hollywood website. The cast has yet to be announced.
“Bilti Hafich,” which has been on since January, was renewed for a second season.
It is about a young couple and the changes that occur after the birth of their first daughter.
The acquisition comes after the success of Showtime’s “Homeland” and CBS’ “Hostages,” both based on Israeli dramas.
