JERUSALEM (JTA) — Six Israelis have been killed in attacks carried out or planned by Palestinian terrorists released in the 2011 prisoner swap for captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
A member of the Hamas terror cell arrested on Sunday in the killing of Malachi Rosenfeld, 25, on June 29 was freed in the prisoner exchange, according to the Shin Bet security service. Ahmad Najar, now a resident of Jordan, was the alleged mastermind of the attack.
Some 39 of the 1,027 Palestinian prisoners released in the Shalit deal were rearrested last summer during the Gaza conflict and returned to Israeli jails, Ynet reported.
