2 injured in apparent shooting attack near West Bank settlement

(JTA) — Two people were injured, one of them seriously, in an apparent shooting attack in the West Bank.
The incident happened Friday near an Israeli settlement close to Ramallah, the news site Ynet.co.il reported.
The two people injured were hikers who were traveling on Route 453 near Haparsa Junction, about a mile west of the West Bank settlement of Dolev.
Pramaedics who reached the scene found one man unconscious from serious gunshot wounds to his body. His condition is critical, Ynet reported. Another was hit in his legs, sustaining minor injuries, and was conscious. They were both evacuated for medical treatment.
The Israel Defense Forces and the Border Police dispatched units to the area to attempt to pursue the perpetrators.
