Zach Dalin, Bradley University graduate of 2013, knew early on what his future might look like. His passions throughout his life landed him a bachelor’s of arts degree in interactive media, with a minor in social media marketing.

Currently, Dalin holds a full-time job at KMOV-TV. He is a multimedia producer and photographer. His hobbies include running a photography business, which specializes in weddings, engagement sessions, b’nai mitzvahs, senior photos, landscape photography, and other special occasions. Dalin’s energy does not end here; he also runs a DJ and event productions company. Its focus is on school dances, weddings, b’nai mitzvahs, and more.

Dalin, who is from Chesterfield, grew up at Congregation B’nai Amoona where a history of family directorship helped him shape his life today. He was a camper and counselor for over 19 years at the temple’s Ramot Amoona as well as a B’nai Amoona religious school member and teacher. He also held high positions on the B’nai Amoona USY (United Synagogue Your) board. Currently he works with all of B’nai Amoona’s youth groups as a youth advisor, and a technical specialist at EMTZA USY conventions.

“Judaism will always play a big role in my life,” Dalin said. “My family’s involvement and leadership at B’nai Amoona has played a very large role in that.”

While at Bradley University, Dalin became very involved with the university’s Hillel organization. He served as president for two years.

“I was very fortunate to be involved with Hillel at this time when we were moving into a brand new house,” Dalin said. “It was a big task, but a great leadership and great learning experience for me to be a part of.”

Starting his own company in 2002, Dalin taught himself how to be a successful entrepreneur and learn how to manage multiple successful small businesses.

“Working in the news industry has taught me to be better at time management as well as how to work well under tight deadlines,” Dalin said.

Dalin knew that he wanted to be involved with digital arts and photography, so the job at KMOV was a perfect fit. During college, he did an internship with Fox 2, which piqued his interest in the news business.

Now that he is working full time, he spends his days doing graphic arts, motion graphics and video editing. In the evening, he photographs concerts, sporting events, galas and landscapes.

Andy Schwebel, director of experiential education at B’nai Amoona, thinks highly of Dalin. “Zachary is our ‘go-to’guy for anything we do with multimedia and web-based information. He is tremendously talented in so many different areas. We love having him as an advisor in our USY group and multimedia director at Camp Ramot Amoona,” Schwebel said.

In the future, Dalin sees himself staying in television to some extent, but also growing his own business.

“Zach lives and breathes for finding better ways to translate his technology into top-notch services for his clients,” said Elliott Kleiman, Dalin’s long time friend and colleague. “Whether that is through DJing, photography, or other media services.”
