New Ohr Chadash leadership brings new vision
Published September 8, 2010
It’s that time of year again: time to zip up backpacks and prepare for school, time to break out the sweaters, and time to begin the third season of Ohr Chadash.
A new season means a new staff, and that’s where we, the 2010-2011 teen page editors-in-chief, come in. We are Abby Abrams, a senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, and Madison Ginsberg, a senior at Marquette High School, and collectively
we have five years of experience with Ohr Chadash.
Our managing editors for this year are Melanie Cytron, a senior at Ladue High and Hannah Cropf, a sophomore at Ladue. Together, the four of us hope to bring you a new perspective on the teenage Jewish experience.
In Hebrew, Ohr Chadash means “New Light.” This year, our mission is to shed light on current, relevant topics from the teenage Jewish perspective. After all, Ohr Chadash is “Teen News by Teen Jews.” We hope that in each issue you will learn something, be it a different opinion on a hot-button issue, an event you may want to attend, or simply a piece of trivia about your Jewish heritage. Whatever it is, we hope it inspires you to participate in your Jewish community.
Because we are a teen-centered publication, we want feedback from teens in the community! Please send us your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions
at [email protected]. Remember, the more you tell us, the better Ohr Chadash will be.
While you’re online, stop by our website which you can access through www.stljewishlight.com. There, you can browse old issues and visit our blog, www.ohrchadashblog.blogspot.com, to read articles exclusively
published online.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this month’s Ohr Chadash… that is, before you have to head back to school.
