Shinshinim / Shaare Emeth / Kol Rinah

For the commemoration of Yom HaZikaron and celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Shinshinit Gal Roberman organized a joint educational program for the Kol Rinah and Shaare Emeth religious schools on April 18. More than 100 children attended the event. The two-hour program began with the commemoration of Israeli fallen soldiers: children watched a video about a lone soldier and heard the siren that is heard throughout Israel during Yom HaZikaron. Children learned the personal stories of soldiers and lit candles to honor them. The solemn tribute was followed by transitioning to the happy celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut, like it is done in Israel. There were several interactive stations including learning the ‘Hatikva’ and learning Israeli dance. The celebration culminated by singing Happy Birthday to Israel in Hebrew and eating cake.
