Martina’s journey from Austria to her new home was just the beginning of her inspiring story. She moved to St. Louis and started a family, where her three children eventually became B’nai Mitzvah at Temple Israel. In 2013, Rabbi Amy recognized Martina’s talent for connecting with people and asked her to co-lead the Women’s Connection program. Martina’s skill in organizing engaging and meaningful events quickly became evident, leading to a part-time role managing special events.

Her dedication and impact were undeniable, eventually earning her the position of Director of Special Events. Over seven years, Martina transitioned from volunteer to Executive Director, a testament to her deep understanding of the community, her ability to connect with others, and her commitment to excellence.

Martina is hands-on, working alongside volunteers cleaning and cooking for events, as well as leading staff and working alongside the Rabbis. Her leadership style is rooted in service and inspiration. Reflecting on her journey, Martina shared, “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey!”
