Ben Poremba unveils exciting changes, new concepts and locations

Ben Poremba

Ben Poremba has closed his longtime Botanical Heights restaurants Elaia, Olio and Nixta and will reopen them in the Delmar Maker District, located along Delmar Boulevard between North Kingshighway and Union boulevards later in 2024. He will also open two new concepts, Florentin and Esca.

Florentin, named for Poremba’s favorite neighborhood in Tel Aviv and described as an anytime kind of place, will be open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner, with both sit-down and counter options available. Esca, which is in part short for Escalivada, a Catalan dish made with a variety of roasted vegetables, and that also translates to “kindling” or “bait,” will be a coastal Mediterranean grill and bar, with an emphasis on charcoal and wood cooking.
