Yom HaShoah commemoration planned for May 5

“To Honor and Remember: Testimonies of St. Louis Survivors and Witnesses” will be the focus of an annual Yom HaShoah commemoration at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, held at Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road. The Holocaust Remembrance Day event will feature eyewitness accounts of the Shoah as well as a traditional candle-lighting service, Holocaust Torah procession, liturgical readings and prayers.

Music will be performed by Andrew Ruben, Mischa and Tova Braitberg of Elegant Ensembles. Mischa and Tova Braitberg are the son and granddaughter of survivors Szyfra and the late Gregor Braitberg. Additional music by soloist Samantha Seigel, Parkway Central High School. The program will be interpreted in sign language. Ample parking available in synagogue lot.
